XMi Wins United Way Award for Outstanding Campaign

Nashville, Tenn. – It was a celebration to honor the best of the best. XMi, management and entrepreneurial advisors, was one of more than 80 companies recognized at United Way of Metropolitan Nashville’s annual meeting and campaign celebration, held February 20, 2008.

XMi received the Circle of Honor Award and the Gold Award for their 2007 campaign efforts.

The Circle of Honor Award was created to give proper recognition to organizations that truly support the mission of United Way. Organizations receiving this honor have at least 51 percent participation among employees, 65 percent or $100,000 of their employee giving is donated to United Way (within Community or Targeted Care areas), an average gift of $150 or more, and a corporate gift. Circle of Honor recipients also use campaign best practices and provide other non-financial contributions, such as volunteers.

The Gold Award is for employee per capita giving of $250 or more. This measure shows a combination of great participation among employees and leadership level giving.

Funds raised through its annual campaign, as well as grants and other revenue resources, enable United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to focus on the building blocks for a better life through support for programs related to education, income/financial stability and health. The generosity of individual donors and companies allows United Way to address the needs of individuals as well as the broader community issues contributing to their problems.

United Way currently invests in more than 160 health and human service programs within 70-plus agencies across the community. Volunteers monitor these programs on an annual basis to ensure they are achieving goals and measurable results.

The award program is held annually to thank companies for their fundraising efforts and bestow awards on the most outstanding campaigns in a variety of categories.

Founded in 1922, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville was originally called the Community Chest. Today, the organization — through partnerships with government, education, health and human services, donors, and business leaders — does much more than raise and distribute funds to agencies. As a catalyst for proactive and lasting community change, United Way actively works to improve Nashville through four priority areas: children, basic needs, neighborhoods, and wellness.
